My First Folk Art

In the midst of new home reorganising ie recluttering and decluttering, I cant miss to attend a very generous folkart class generously offeredby Teacher Sya...here is her page : http://englishdecomaniac.blogspot.com/.

After being lost 2 times, and being honked by few lorry drivers (as if I need to shout : "I am lost, you i***t!"), I reached the Sifu's den aka soho.

Marvellous house cum studio, even though I dont think Sifu intentionally wants to create a mini studio at all. All her masterpieces were displayed on racks and shelves, and they didnt make her house mess unlike some I saw over the net.

Since I wanted to respect the other students' privacies, I didnt shoot any photo at all.

But, here is my 1st folkart piece. I am proud of it even though its not really that grand.

Said to myself i couldnt believe it tat I can produce tis someday..almost got me in down in tears...
I owe so much to my Sifu, many thanks Sifu!!

Deco Plaque to Hardcore Baker

Yes, I ve been busied packing like a queen bee (I am!!)

But also finishing few things like hooks and plaque.

~the plain white piece after being painted with gesso~Before words insertion, after finishing decoupaging whats needed
~the free-hand words been misplaced a bit too high, ie not centered
~so I put some other smaller words below it to make it better (I hope!) and walla, the final piece of it.~a hook for a new house
***For my Dear Friend; hopefully you wont repaint or sticking something on top of my masterpiece like that someone has done, please dont. Coz it hurts so much. Thanks !

New Wall Cabinets

After ding dong on my hectic balik kg schedule, I had managed to collect these two wall cabinets from Kak Halimah akak Ctima of WMC.

Cramping my head where to put them up, finally I had rest the Portmeirion canisters on one of the cabinets, while it sits firmly on top of Smadal. Hope it will not fall down...

New Deco Hanger

In the mists of busying myself with countless laundry, cooking n etc,I dared to complete this piece.

Earlier plan is to hang it in my kitchen but now its finished and seemed too delicate, now I am confuse of where to hang it then.

DIY Tins

Here are some of few tins I had started decoupaged somewhen last year.. And since I've been back to KL, some friends have asked of my whereabout...

Having a better toy (other than paint and brush n scissors and varnish) to maneuvere around the KL city, I was busily occupied with sending and picking hubby's laundry, shopping for groceries, spying on 'someone', going for a facial treatment, entertaining out of town guests, etc
Also, hubby has asked me to clean and clear some area in the middle room to fit a threadmill(?, I am wondering where is it?) for me to run through. So the house was a bit mess, and this pic done the justice to my confession...

House Plaque for a Niece

This plaque has been finished since last month but the delivery was postponed one after another, mainly because I didnt manage to install the hanger properly.

I have made trips to many hardware shops uptowns and downtowns but couldnt find a proper size of the frame hanger, mainly they had big size in which I prefered the small one.

So last week I mailed the plaque to the owner and she happily received it in Kuala Lipis.

Here is the so down-to-earth plaque...

Dissappointed

A recent visit to my relative house really broke my heart. I have gave her two hanging plats, one for the kitchen and the other to welcome other to their new house.

When I was in her daughter room, I saw my contribution has been redecorated by her.

And its a total dissappoinment other than seeing my sick sister left veged out.

Why cant she appreciated mine? If she wants other wording to be on the plat, all she need is ONLY a courtesy to ask me to make another custom-made one.

Decal Stickers Utilisation

I had purchased quite a sum of KH Bailey & Sons decal stickers from various WMC sellers. Yet am still dry on the idea to utilise them.

My 1st project is this bread box, and because I was too excited to start gesso-ing the box, I unintentionally forgot to snap the 'before' image.

Here is the outcome..

My First Decoupage Items

I had found a new hobby to fill my time since my resignation, so I resort to something that also benefit my house at the same time. Its decoupageing and decaling (are they correct?).

Most of the supplies like serviettes, paints, decal stickers, gesso and lots more were bought from, wherelse if not WMC. As time goes by I bought more brushes from other local walk-in stores.
